  Gov. Cooper Shows Optimism with Vaccine Distribution Starting Soon

Yesterday, Gov. Roy Cooper and NCDHHS Sec. Mandy Cohen expressed “newfound hope” as they announced the first shipment of coronavirus vaccines could arrive in North Carolina as early as next week. Healthcare workers on the front lines will be the first to get the vaccine, with at-risk populations coming shortly after.

Vaccines On The Way 

NCNA member and ANA President Ernest Grant is one of the volunteers for the COVID-19 clinical trials. He says he felt obligated to participate as a healthcare professional and a Black man, saying, "it's so important that we get a whole rainbow of colors of people, if you will, to participate in these trials so that we can say that we know for certain in communities of color that these vaccines are just as effective as they are in the white population."
