Job Summary

As a Physician Substitute, you’ll perform donor medical screenings and physical assessments to determine donor eligibility, manage donor reactions, and support safe plasma donation procedures. You’ll work under the guidance of the Center Medical Director and leadership team, playing a key clinical role in both donor care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical evaluations and physical exams to assess donor eligibility in accordance with FDA, SOP, and cGMP regulations
  • Administer immunizations and monitor donor responses
  • Provide first-line treatment for donor adverse reactions (e.g., hypotension, allergic responses)
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of donor health information
  • Guide donors through the informed consent process with clear, compassionate communication
  • Collaborate with team members to promote donor comfort and safety
  • Maintain, inspect, and manage medical equipment and emergency supplies
  • Review and follow up on abnormal test results with the Center Medical Director
  • Notify donors of reactive test results in a professional and confidential manner
  • Participate in training, compliance, and safety meetings
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, professionalism, and continuous improvement

What You Bring

  • LPN, LVN, or RN license, valid and in good standing in the state of employment
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, caring approach to patient interaction
  • At least 1 year of clinical or patient care experience preferred
  • Plasma or blood donation experience is a plus
